BAC STUDENT QUALIFIES TO PARTICIPATE AT FEDERATION OF UNIVERSITY SPORTS(FISU) IN CHINA

BAC is thrilled to announce that a 3rd year Business Management student, Ms Lone Madzimule has been selected to participate in 100 meters flat, 4x100 meters relay and 4x100 relay through Botswana Tertiary Students Sports Association (BOTESSA) at the Federation of University Sports (FISU) on 28th July- 8th August 2023, in Chengdu, China.

The Federation of University Sports (FISU) games are held biennially. A contingent of approximately twelve (12) athletes and five (5) officials will represent Team Botswana at the games. BOTESSA will be competing in athletics competitions in both track and field events.

 

BOTESSA ATHLETICS NATIONAL FINALS 2023

The Francistown Campus has twelve (12) students who qualified for BOTESSA Athletics National finals that were held at Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown from the 13th -14th April 2023. A total of four (4) medals were won from throwing athletics events as indicated below:

Shot Put Female:

  • Angela Kaelo - Position 2 (Silver medal)
  • Katlo Dipatelelo - Position 3 (Bronze medal)
Discuss Female:
  • Angela Kaelo- Position 2 (Silver medal)
Javelin Male:
  • Washa Mothusi Poloko - Position 1 (Gold medal)
BAC congratulates the students on their outstanding performance and for flying the BAC Flag high.

 

 

BOTESSA INDIVIDUAL/ INDOOR SPORTS CODES 2022 BRIEF

BAC Francistown Campus affiliated to BOTESSA was invited for the Indoor/ Individual Sports Codes that were held in Gaborone from 22nd to 23rd of October 2022 at the University of Botswana and Botswana National Youth Council.

The team consisted of 15 males and 2 females in Darts, Table tennis, Lawn tennis, and Chess. The teams got various positions from the codes they participated on. Table tennis managed to pass through all the stages and finished in position two while Chess team attained position four. The darts team got position 3 while the lawn tennis team was eliminated in the first stage.
