LEARNING LUNCHEON WITH ABSA BANK

BAC represented by the Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, Mrs Mpho V. Mokgosi and School of Computing and Information Systems Lecturer, Ms Botlhe Moitho had the privilege of attending a remarkable Learning Luncheon sponsored by ABSA Bank Botswana on 22 nd May 2023.

This event was organised by Ms Angela Matlapeng, a BAC alumnus and founder of the Angela Matlapeng Women in ICT Award (AMA). Ms Matlapeng partnered with BAC in 2019 to recognize and reward female graduates who emerge best overall students for all the programmes in the School of Computing and Information Systems (SCIS). The award was inspired by her journey as a woman in ICT and decided to invest on other women who join the ICT profession.

During this forum, the Managing Director of ABSA Bank Botswana, Ms Keabetswe Pheko-Moshagane shared her incredible life story, with emphasis on her deep- rooted ICT background. Ms Pheko-Moshagane highlighted the significance of maintaining high ethical standards with focus on honesty, integrity, and personal growth as they foster trust and pave way for opportunities.

In her closing remarks, Mrs Mokgosi hailed Ms Matlapeng’s vision and contribution towards the capacitation and acceleration of women in ICT. She further recognised ABSA for its commitment to empowering various communities.
