GENDER BASED VIOLENCE SEMINAR

The Student Support and Welfare Department in partnership with the Botswana Police hosted a Gender Based Violence Seminar on Friday 27th November 2020. The event was attended by the SRC, Class Representatives and Peer Educators with the believe that they will cascade the information to the entire student community. In his presentation, the Assistant Station Commander for Urban Police Station Mr. Mokoba covered various topics on GBV including the different types of GBV such as verbal, physical, and emotional. He encouraged students to seek help when experiencing such as well as report cases of GBV where victims do not want to report as they know how to handle those. Mr Mokoba went on to discourage students from withdrawing cases of GBV as he says that really defeats the motive of curbing this ill behavior.
